Icons change

Sometimes I close the lid so my computer goes into sleep modes b/c I don't
want to totally turn my computer off. But whenever I open the lid after I do
this the screen seems to come up in a whole new display mode...meaning the
icons seem larger and stretched out. So then I have to go in and re-select
the display mode I had. Is there any way to stop this from happening. I
just recently changed it my power options so that whenever I shut the lid (w/
the battery plugged in and when it isn't plugged in) to just turn off. Is
there any way to stop the icons from changing size when it goes to sleep?

Good question--I notice that icon size doesn't stick on desktops as well. I
don't know the answer because I can't always make them stick even when I
custome set them at

Rt. click desktop>personalize>appearances>advanced>icons on the pull down.
You might try there but they don't stick for me.
