Icon Problems

When I got to install Windows Defender, it did not show the icon in the
system taskbar. Is this normal? Nowhere can I find an option that allows you
to toggle the icon to appear or disappear. Help greatly appresiated.

The system tray icon for Windows Defender (Beta 2) will not be visible if no
action is needed. This is expected behavior.

I'm on wireless dial-up broadband, so I disconnected from the Net and
uninstalled my Beta 1. Then shut down running programs with 'EndItAll'.
Then installed Beta 2.

It showed the icon in the Taskbar untill I reconnected to undate definitions
which were 22 days out-of-date. (Must have been 22 days since final build
till it got out the gate.)

As it was very late I decided to do a quick scan first. It took over a hour
and scanned 400-450,000 items. I don't have that many files. I must have.

So be warned - program is probably set for a RUN ONCE - FULL SCAN no matter
which option you choose 1st time. Which is proper and correct.
