I just downloaded an icm file from Kodak for my Epson 1280 printer.
How do I install it on Win XP?

I put it in Windows/System32/Spool/Drivers/Color folder, but it
doesn't show up in the Media Type drop down list of the Properties
Window.

Thanks for the link. I downloaded the program and installed it and
had it install the profile I downloaded from Kodak and rebooted. When
I open the properties window for the printer, it still isn't listed.

Hi.

It can not be expected to show up in the "Drop Down Media" list. If you
think about it, none of the profiles which were already on your system
showed up there either.

You will see that Kodak also supply "Settings Instructions" for their Papers
which tell you what to select in the "Drop Down" list.

Somewhere in your Printer Driver, you should eventually be able to select
which profile to use for printing. You will probably have to select Colour
Management or ICM or something else first, before you can choose..

Do have a read up on Colour Management.

I also downloaded these profiles for my R800 (along with Ilford profiles),
but like you, I cannot see them in the Media selections. Not sure about the
Kodak profiles, but it seems the Ilford ones are for Photoshop only? Anyone
have any comments?
Regards,
Steve.

You put in the folder which has the rest of the icm files. There are two of
them on my system. Surely you can find it by searching for icm.

On my system, the vast majority of icm files are located in:
C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\Color.
To install, I just copied the file into that folder.
I have both printer and monitor icm files there.

Duh, if you read a previous post you will see that I put the file in
the folder. I assumed there was an install procedure after you did
that. Another poster pointed me to the MS install program.

Do a right click on file and associate the file to a device.

Greetings Bill,

You can find the download as an excecutable zip file and simply run it. This
should install the file to your system. Also, the workflow is available,
just choose the software that you are using and you should be able to open
and review the process to follow in printing. Both are on the site from
which you downloaded. Remeber, these settings are for professional papers.

Let me know if you successfully install the software.

Talk to you soon,
