Hi,
I'm strugelling with the ICFutil and just can't get it to work. I read all
threads in the NG and add every components mentions.
I also read the two MS articles regarding ICF but none of them helps.
so far I have:
1. Internet Connection Firewall Utility component
2. Internet Connection Sharing and Firewall component
3. Internet Connection Wizard component
4. WMI Core component
5. Connection Manager Runtime (someone said it might be needed)
6. Internet Protocol Network Address Translation (NAT) (I don't really need
it but just in case..)
7. Network Allocation Awareness Service
8. Volume Shadow Copy Service (someone said it is needed for the WMI core)
the results are:
1. icfutil /status gives: "Firewall Manager not available"
2. Internet Connection Sharing and Firewall service can't start trough
services.msc and says one of it's dependencies is missing...
3. control panel- network connections - LAN properties- advanced tab- I get
a WMI error saying something is corrupted and I can't see the FW settings.
I'd really appriciate if there's anyone that succeded would give me some
clue on this.
also, if some of the above components are not needed- please mention,
because every byte counts.
thanks,
YaronM
