The Firmware Update file for the ibm CD-RW/DVD drive which makes it
compatable with newer versions of DLA is Diskette only. Anybody seen the
non-diskette version? thanks in advance

Why not just burn it to a cd?

You "could" make a boot CD and place the update onto it.
thanks but being dense, I have another problem.
my CD program "Record now" allows me to make a bootable CD and place a
..img on it but the Diskette Image is a .exe file. I need to make it an
img file and place it on the CD.

thanks in advance

the update file wants to make a bootable diskette. It is an .exe file
and wants to write to the A: drive. When I reroute it to the D:(CD),
drive I get an error. I can make a bootable cd with "recordnow" and
place a .img file on it but I don't know how to make the diskette
image, .exe program make one. If I place the update .exe file on the
Bootable CD nothing happens of course. Any help? and thanks in advance
