I386 and System32 system folders?

P

Paul Cachia

Can anybody tell me the main difference between the I386 and the System32
folders on windows 2000 and XP operating systems, I know that System32 is a
subdirectory of the i386 folder and the I386 folder is not all copied during
installation, I just need a definition for the two directories in what they
contain.

Thank you.

The I386 folder is a copy of your Windows CD installation directory, so you
(usually) don't need to put in your disk to install Windows
Components....System32 is your System directory, where the OS lives
