I-worm Swen_A

Hi Guys,
checked the newsgroup but could find my answer, maybe because I don't
understand which virus is which. My Step father's computer has been
infected with the I-worm Swen_A virus, tried using his AVG virus checker,
but I think the virus shut it down, now all I get is warnings that the virus
is there, but AVG can't remove it. Is there a tool I can download and
remove it, or another way of getting rid of it. You probably had this
question before, sorry it you have. He is 78 and I don't think he updated
his virus definition, well anyway thanks for your help and it is appreciated

you might need to switch off "system restore" via the control panel, then
run AVG again.

Once cleaned....switch "system restore" back on

There are free Swen removal tools at www.Grisoft.com , www.Symantec.com ,
and www.McAfee.com
Don't forget to turn off restore before and turn it back on after.

As others have mentioned turn off the system restore. Also check his
newsgroup account setting & make sure his real e-mail address isn't in
there. Make some modifications so the bots can not grab it if/when he
posts to newsgroups.
