I want to subtract a constant number say 2000 fro an entire row and replace
the same row with the new answer

In an un-used cell, enter 2000.
Copy the cell.

Select the cells you want to modify and then
Edit > PasteSpecial > subtract

All the cells will have the value subtracted

type 2000 into a blank cell.

Copy that cell.

Highlight your desired row.

Paste Special, Subtract

Put 2000 in a spare cell, copy, select your row, Edit/ Paste Special/
Subtract/ OK
You can now delete the 200 from the spare cell, if you wish.

you can use this formula also for eg your data is in row A1 and you want your
answer in row A2

=A1-2000
Then you can copy row A2 and right click on row A1 paste special>>values.
This will replace the same row with a substracted value.
