I'm running xp home, and I've followed and done the regedit procedure to
get of (what I assumed were being called XP) "balloons"* or "balloon
tips". I'm -positive- I did the procedure correctly, but I still have
these rectangular yellow text boxes following my cursor, opening on top
of every desktop item every dang day...
first of all, is THIS rectangular yellow box showing the folder size and
contents even what they call a "balloon" or "balloon tip", anyway? (see
partial image of my desktop, here)

well, wether it's a "balloon", or "balloon tip" or whatever they are,
I'd like to get rid of 'em. would someone please tell me
1. what their "proper" or everyday name is, and
2. how to get rid of them, if possible (though I can research that
elsewhere, given their 'everyday name') and/or
3. if it's -not- possible to 'get rid' of these rectangular
cursor-following dialog boxes entirely, is it at least possible to
somehow drastically delay the time it takes for them to pop open over
the top of every item my mouse passes over the top of?
thanks much in advance,
dave
