I want an auto date on Word doc cant figure it out under visita

I went to help it said type the first 4 letters of the month and hit enter.
Word was to finish spelling the month. it did not? now what? The original
goal was to create a Word doc that would update the date when the document
was opened.

If the goal is to have a document update the date each time it is opened,
insert a DATE field, which reports the system date of the PC. Possibly more
useful is to create a template with a CREATEDATE field, which inserts the
current date in your letters etc but does not update each time you open the
document.
