I use a POP3 server, how do I delete an auto reply

Finding my way through Outlook Help is like following directions given by
Franz Kafka! At some point I must have set up an auto reply that goes to
everyone who emails me and, frankly, I'd forgotten I'd ever done it and my
friends are getting pissed off with getting the auto reply. As I don't use a
Microsoft Exchange server I must have found out how to get Outlook to emulate
one. Please could someone explain, as to an idiot, how I can delete this
annoying auto reply?

I'm not sure what version of Outlook you're running, or even whether or not
it matters, but try "Tools" -> "Rules Wizard..." and seeing if there are any
set up to reply using some sort of template.

Hope that helps.

Look in Rules and Alerts

Thanks to Tim and Gordon. I use Outlook 2003. I've already looked in
Tools/Rules and Alerts without finding anything. The biggest frustration is
that if I was using a Microsoft Exchange server it would be easy-peasy to rub
out my errant auto reply, but if you're using a POP3 server (which I guess
most people do on home computers) you have to suffer! Any other suggestions
anyone?

Are these auto-replies appearing in your Sent Items folder? If not have you
set up something up with webmail perhaps?

No I don't get the auto-replies showing up in the 'Sent' folder, which would
have alerted me earlier. I thought you'd hit the jackpot with Gordon's query
about webmail, which I don't use very often, but there doesn't seem to be a
facility for auto-replies. This gets odder and odder!
