I upgraded Outlook 2003 to 2007, now the program will not open up

I upgraded a trial version of Office Small Business Edition 2003 to Office
Small Business Edition 2007. Everything except my Outlook program works.
When I try to start Outlook, the error message indicates that Microsoft
Contact Manager has experienced a problem and needs to close. I uninstalled
Office 2007 and lost everything related to Office 2003. Any thoughts or
suggestions?

Did you create a new mail profile after upgrading?

Installing or uninstalling Outlook never affects existing Outlook data. You
probably have a new PST. Use Control Panel's Mail applet's Data Files
button to add your old PST to the mail profile (or, better yet, start with a
new mail profile with Show Profiles>Add), make it the default delivery
location, and remove the extra that was created.

Personal Folders file. You will have one unless you're using Exchange. It
contains Inbox, Outbox, Contacts, Calendar, tasks, etc.

Brian,
I have a similar problem. We upgraded 2 machines on our network from 2003
to 2007. It said it made a backup of the bcm, which for the life of me I
cannot find. I have backups of the mdf and ldf files. I called msft and
they told me to stop the mscontactmanagersmbiz service copy the files in the
default directory and restart. Try to connect. However i have tried this on
2 other machines and it does not work. I need to go backwards to 2003. I
dont have the compressed *.msbcm file or atleast I cannot see on the drive.
Help!!!!!

Cheryl

Sorry, I have no experience with the BCM add-on to Outlook. Perhaps you
might was to ask in news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook.bcm
where BCM experts like to gather.
