i really need help with my floppy drive

i tryed saving to my floppy drive and it says "A:/ is not
accesable. disk media is not recognized. it may not be
formatted." but i bought formated disks from staples
and they work on my other computer. so i am really
confused. i havent used the drive since i bought my
computer 2 1/2 years ago i never needed to but now i need
it and i cant use it i have been looking around my
computer and trying to figure out whats wrong bt i have
no clue. if anyone could help me i would much appreciate
it. thanks -desperatly needs help-
 
probably needs the heads cleaned. you can buy a special floppy disk to do
that.
 
XP doesn't read all floppy formats. Try reformatting one of the new
floppies in the XP machine and then see if it recognizes it.
