i need to be able to add #'s in a spasific column togather

hi i just need to know if i can add nubbers in a column togather for a total ?
 
In an empty cell type =sum(
then select the group of numbers you want to add together with the mouse
(click and hold the left mouse button on the first number and drag to the
last number). When the numbers are selected they'll all be highlighted.
Let go of the mouse and hit enter.
You should have your total.
