Can anybody tell mefrom where can i download office97

You can't legitimately download it, anywhere.

1) Go to store/shop that sells used, obsolete computer software.

2) Purchase the Microsoft Office 97 suite (either Pro or Standard) that
meets your needs.

3) Return home.

4) Insert installation CD in PC's CD drive and follow the on-screen
prompts and instructions to install application and desired additional
features.

No Microsoft Office software is available for download.
You can try eBay for a copy to purchase.

Carey, I just can't resist ---- a "copy" to purchase. Let's hope it isn't a
copy but the original......

What exactly do you need Office97 for? Tell us why you need it so that
we can give you a better workable solution. I doubt whether you can
legitimately download Microsoft's application products even if they are
old. If you have Microsoft Works preinstalled on your system then it is
a good idea if you could investigate if you could buy an upgrade version
of Office 2003.

There are many varieties/versions of Office 2003 and I am sure you can
get something that is within your bufget.

I am laughing till my sides hurt... How can you download Office 97? Or you
may have made a mistake, you need to purchase it. Erm... why are you deciding
to "download" a very old version?

I'll sell you my copy for $50 plus S&H.

Haven't used it in years.

Did you use that as a qualifying product for an upgrade version of
your next Office product? If so then you can't sell it cause it is
part of the license for that upgrade now.

And how, pray tell, would anyone know?

The OP wants to download Office97 (for whatever odd
reason). You say, "...Microsoft Office software is
available for download." Where is it?

Please cite an URL where the OP can download a legit
and full copy of Office97 from Microsoft. All I can find
available for download are Office97 SR1 upgrade files.

The OP was provided a link to Office97 on eBay in the
previous post.

Wow - and I thought the studies that said,
"Reading ability was up, comprehension abilities were down around the
world.."
were full of crap.

Thanks for proving that study! *grin*
Either that or you chose to BADLY misquote Carey..

"No Microsoft Office software is available for download." is what Carey
said.
You quoted Carey as saying, "...Microsoft Office software is available for
download."

Nice trick (attempt) with the ".." - eliminating the word "No" at the
beginning only changes the meaning in your quote.. Not in the original
response.

*shrug* Honest mistakes happen all the time.

Claiming ignorance is no defense.
Just because someone cannot identify who spit in their food doesn't make the
act proper.
(Not that I disagree with the implications - the logic is flawed, even
assuming the "no harm, no foul" aspect of it.)

You're correct. I misread Carey's statement. Mentally
inserted a period after his "No". My goof. Am deleting
my comments. Sorry about that.

I'm not defending anything.

Straw argument.

assuming the "no harm, no foul" aspect of it.)

Sigh. Again, how, pray tell, would anyone know?

Alias,

No one would know..
Doesn't make it right.
The point is not that anyone would/would not know - that is ignorance in
action.
The tree falls, the tree has fell. Whether anyone ever knows it fell or
not - the fact is it did.

You are defending something. Not defending something would have involved
being quiet.

You asked how would anyone know that this copy of Office 97 was not supposed
to be used because it had been used as qualifying media in an upgrade..
inferring that no one would and it was okay to do something that some
consider wrong if no one knows about it.

My argument is not against the specifics here (Office 97 reference) - but
against the argument that if you do something "wrong" and no one ever knows
you did it - you didn't do anything wrong..

You can claim all you were doing was asking an innocent question if you
like - but I like to think you are not that ignorant.

To answer your direct question : No one would ever likely know or care.
