Recently, my windowsXP professional decides not to load so after trying to
save it, i gave up and installed XP professional on another hard drive,
making the unbooting hard drive a slave to this windowsXP hard drive. Now I
wish to access My Documents on the original hard drive, however, when I try
to access the folder, access is denied. I don't know how to get past this to
get to my old files which I wish to save. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank You

You need to take ownership of the files.

Another option is to go to Start | Help and Support and type permissions
in the search box.
