I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I helped a friend install the new service pack
everything went fine until we rebooted. This message came
up on the bottom of the screen tab to exit and del for
setup we went in to set up not sure what she hit. now the
screen is blank when the computer starts up. Not sure how
to get the computer up and running back to the Windows xp
screen again PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! is there any
hope?????????????????????

It sounds as if you went into the BIOS setup (which loads before the
operating system) and changed something in there, maybe the configuration of
the hard drive. Probably the safest thing to do is to switch the machine
off, then turn on, and press delete again at the startup screen. Then go
into the BIOS and look for 'default settings' or similar and choose that.
Then save and close the BIOS screen and when the PC reboots, do not touch
anything until Windows XP starts!

Sounds as if you've changed something in the BIOS settings.
Go back into the BIOS and verify all your settings are
correct.
