if this formula is in E7, then:
Select E7 => Conditional formatting => Formula: =E7="Reservd" => and
choose fill color.
Do it again for =E7="Not booked"

select the cell you want to color => On ribbon Start choose Conditional
Formatting => Formula => Enter your formula => click button "Format" and
choose tab "Font" and there "Color"

Sorry, I'm a real amateur. You must type exactly how it is done. I really
appreciate that you spend time on this. Can I continue with the formula = IF
(D7 = 0, "Not booked", "Reserved"), and how?

you have to create a formula for every value.

Select D7 and look in Conditional Formatting for the formula
