I need help creating MMC......

Kelvin Beaton

I want to create an MMC on my Windows XP machine I can use to manage my
domain.
The Group Policy Management Snap-in is listed but not the "Active Directory
Users and Computers" Snap-in.
Is this only availble if I'm doing this from the server?

Thanks

Well you have the right thinking, because you can do this
from a workstation. All you need is the file and MMC can
load it up from any workstation. You will need to have
the workstation as a member of the AD domain and be using
administrator privledges to get anything done with it.

Check this location (or equivelant) for a link

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools

The module could be located here:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dsa.msc

I'm not sure of all the magic combinations to get this to
install when installing a new computer, but Microsoft
seems to think that not all computers need it. Maybe
someone else will know how to make it install properly. :)
