I need a program to know the video format

Hi there! I have some AVI and MPEG videos, but when i start watch the movie
a message appears saying the video is not a valid AVI video or is not a
valid MPEG video. I need a program that tells the exactly video format. Does
anyone know where i can download it? Thank you very much.
