I've installed and uninstalled several times, but I get the message "cannot
find e-mail folders, open document folders instead?". Then message- microsoft
visual something something wrong, gotta close. What can I do? repair function
doesn't recognize my dell disc as legit...

what is the specific error message?
Try adding a new profile via the Mail icon in Control Panel and start
Outlook with that profile.
