I have set up auto archive but nothing happens..!?

I have used the Outlook 2003 troubleshooter but it has not fixed the apparent
non-auto archiving. I click aarchive now and the mail remains stubbornly
where it is. I have checked global and local settings and have (apparently )
set it up correctly

What are you expecting to happen? This is a serious question. I'm not
trying to be smart-mouthed. Describe what you expect, because archiving
doesn't work as you might expect.
