In Outlook 2003, I used to get the message flag icon in the lower right
corner of my screen when a new email arrived. However, it no longer appears
when a new
email arrives. Why has it disappeared and how do I get it back?

Is the mail being received to the Inbox or another folder?
Does the envelope when you expand the Notification Area?

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

Yes, to the inbox. I assume by "Notification Area" you mean the left arrow
(<) that I click to show more icons on the lower right corner of my screen.
If so, no, clicking on that shows me more icons, but none of them is the
Outlook mail flag icon.

Using Windows XP, I'll bet. Right-click the System Tray and choose
"Customize Notifications". Locate "You have new unopened items" and change
the behavior to "Always show". Click OK, then OK.

Brian:
Yes, Windows XP. I opened "Customize Notifications." There are many
entries there, however, none of them is "You have new unopened items."
Please advise further.
