Search your computer for an archive.pst file (or any other .pst files) and, when found, open them in Outlook using File->Open->Outlook Data File.
Do you also use a filtered view of your folders? Right click the toolbar area and select the Advanced toolbar. Use the dropdown to ensure you are viewing messages, and not another filter of your folder.
