Thank you for that explanation, Stefan. Other than reassigning the
Ctrl-Alt-Hypen keystroke combination to another macro, what would be a
good way of disabling that macro? I can't find where it is even
listed, and it's one that I'll not need a shortcut to in the near
future. (Aside from the fact that I do a lot of work on the laptop,
which requires an extra button push for the 'numeric' keys.)

This brings up a question that I've had for a while but not asked, and
that is: Is there a map of all current keystroke shortcuts in Word?
I've seen an impressive array of keyboard shortcuts for Excel, but
haven't seen that in Word so far.

ToolsCustomizeRemoveMenuShortcut. Find this under All Commands in the
Keyboard dialog and unassign the shortcut.

To find a list of many, many keyboard shortcuts, see the "Keyboard
shortcuts" Help topic in Word. You might also be interested in the topic
"Print a list of shortcut keys."

Actually, there is a lot of info in Word Help. The difficult part
might be to find it...
