When I use to defrag, my graphic represntation indidicated, from left to
right, all blue except for system files. Now my finished product starting
from left to right has large white gaps in between the Blues and greens. Is
this a problem? Is this graphic represntation accurate? Do I have big gaps
between my different files?

I appreciate your help in this matter.

Hi Skip,

WinXP defrag does not consolidate free space.
I have always used WinXP built-in defrag and never has a problem.

Perfect Disk from www.raxco.com does consolidate free space.

The problem is that the built-in defrag will not defrag the "page file" and
will not move the "unmovable" files. This is why third party utilities,
like Perfect Disk, exists.

Thanks for your help. Looks like I am going to own some more software.

That is correct. The built-in defrag tool is limited.
