Assuming you are using Microsoft Access their professional database
program and are looking at a query, form or table, then you would make the
name field active and press control F and then type in the name you are
looking for and press enter.
There are many variations depending on the format of the table, form or
query etc.
If you are no using MS Access, chances are you will be able to do much
the same thing in almost any program and have it work.
