I was pulling files from it from another computer and the transfer was interrupted. When I tried accessing it again, I got an access violation. Now everything is grayed out and I can't turn the sharing feature on like I can all my other folders. I was reading somewhere that supposedly you not supposed to be able to share that for or the documents and settings folder. I was sharing it before though and I can still share my documents and setting folder.
Thanks,
Michael
By default, Windows XP doesn't allow sharing the Program Files and
Windows folders or individual users' folders within Documents and
Settings.
You can share subfolders within those folders, e.g. you can share
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express" or "C:\Documents and
Settings\Username\Desktop" and access that folder from another
computer on the network.
If you have Windows XP Professional, you can permanently disable
"simple file sharing", which removes those sharing restrictions:
1. Open My Computer and click Tools | Folder Options | View.
2. Scroll to the end of the advanced settings.
3. Un-check "Use simple file sharing (recommended).
