At least the one I was looking for, Public.Publisher
Charter Cable has them. I guess they are worth what I pay to have it.
Now, the TV part of it, I don't know.... LOL Whole bunch of channels I
skip over and never watch.
Posting this so if anyone else is also wondering.

But, since the MS nttp news servers are being shut down, the groups are all
but dead. The experts and MVPs are moving to the forums.

Much of the real, useful advice seen in these newsgroups doesn't come
from the "MVPs."

You mean, "most" instead of "much" ... and any real NNTP server such as
http://individual.net carries the full array of newsgroups and always will.

M$ has its collective head so far up its arse that it can't see the real
world ... they didn't even have a native TCP/IP stack until Windblow$ 95.

I was just being polite.

I thank all who have helped me for many years in newgroups.
I'll stick to newsgroups and never likely to move to forums.

I'm surprised your cable company still has newsgroups, as most cable
companies dropped their newsgroup servers.

That's my plan, to keep reading newsgroups. Webforums are bad in so
many ways.

Mozilla may not allow propogation of its newsgroups, but they do have
have new newsgroups, and it's easy enough to read two or more servers.

yeah, garbage scripts, that break sometimes, etc.

dejanews did ok as a web introduction to newsgroups. then google episodically
damaged googlegroups until it was overwhelmed for years by their "googlespammer
groups".

more recently, the searches exclude spam, but most search results are actually http
"forums", and restricting search to true newsgroups is cumbersome.

_______

maybe the topic-compatible comp.* and alt.* groups will respectively acquire refugees
from microsoft.public.*
