Well i finally gave in! I've gone and got myself a BFG 8800GTS 640MB OC. :cool:

Fitted it this afternoon and ran a few benchmarks. All is good!! :D

Running the 158.22 drivers. Speeds are 550Mhz core and 1600Mhz Memory.

So my final spec is as follows..

E6600
Asus P5B Deluxe
4GB GEiL Ultra Low Latency
X-FI
Corsair HX 620w
2x200GB Hard Drives
Plextor PX 740A
Antec 900

Everything's at stock speeds at the mo, but will be ocing the card tonight and the cpu in a day or two.

I ran a quick 3DMark03, 05 and 06 for a stock reference before i start clocking.

If your interested 3DMark results are,

03 = 31150

05 = 13540

06 = 8384

I also got a Microsoft Xbox 360 PC controller.

Now i is off ot play some games and oc!!

Thansk guys. :)

Mucks, must confess, i'm a bit of a clean freak when it comes to my pc, inside and out. :blush:

Although i did notice some dust on the X-FI in one of the pics! :eek::D

AB, thats the way the case is, psu on the floor fan up. Spot the 200mm fan in the top of the case. :)

TC, yeah so far so good, gonna overclock it tomorrow, i did say today but i just been sidetracked playing that dirt demo.

Ian, Viewsonic VX922. Got a nice 2ms response time. Thinking about a 20" - 22" widescreen at a later date maybe.

My computer is always dusty. I rarely bother cleaning it out. Only when I think it is affecting air flow or something that could cost me money :p

Bloody nice rig there VR. You'll be having some crazy times in the polygon world now :D

Lol, Stuff does look good Flops.

Tinkered with the cards clocks yesterday, gave it a slight oc. now running at 620 & 1700ish (at work, and i cant remember exactly, but its there abouts.)

On idle it sat at 49c, now it site around 50-53. On load it goes to around 60c.

Theres room left in that yet.

Thinking of upgrading my ATI x800 to something a bit more modern.
Got me thinking on doing it V_R:thumb:

Well the old 7900 is going on ebay (along with the rest of my 'old' pc), this weekend if i get the chance. Probably a bit overkill if your not a gamer though.

Looking @ PCI-E GC's at the moment.
Might go for something cheapish & then build a new pc from scratch?
As i dont play many games looking at 256MB cards, but not sure which make?

I would look at 7900gs & the Radeon x1950s.

Both about £120 aren't they?

Or are you looking for something cheaper than that?

Same here. Its more than good enough for 1280x1024, but now you begin to have to turn off some of the shiniest eye candy :(
