I.E. "protecting" me - active content - do NOT want this

...D.

I have just started using a website writing program. It uses pull down
menus. I am using it's horizontal menu (home, page1, page2, page3, etc,
across the top. just a basic website main page is all i have written so
far with this program, and look at it every few minutes in I.E, after
editing somethiong ot other.

Here is the problem - every single time I go to view what I've done so far
with Internet Explorer, (clicking on the index.html on my hard drive), I
get a god darned block that I.E. puts up, and I have to click to bypass
it, then click out of a another warning box too. This is ridiculous. As
far as i can read, I cannot disable this feature of I.E, unless i disable
everything.

I am pretty sure this program I am using to write a web page only uses
HTML and javascript. I know how to write HTML only from scratch (no
additional languages).. All I have done so far is the main page, and
posted it to a folder on my hard drive and looking at it that way by
clicking on index.html, as I mentioned.. Basically it writes the webpage
only when i post to a website or a folder on my hard drive.

I.E.'s warning: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has
restricted this file from showing active content that could access your
computer. Click here for options". This happens every single time I open
thais index.html.

I have checked the box in I.E.'s config to "disable script debugging". I
even disabled SP2's firewall (I have a router firewall, so I am OK without
it, at least for a while).. But The IE explanation i gather says i am
stuck with this. I do not want a website that warns anyone my site is
messing with them.. This completely sucks. I hecked with netscape (never
tried it before but it was on my computer whewn bought) and Netscape is OK
with this.

Arrggghhhh...

I do not want a website that warns anyone my site is
messing with them.

You've been changing your local IE settings. That has
nothing to do with how random other people will see your
site. It's best to write pretty close to the lowest
common denominator (pure standard HTML) if you want it to
work for everyone.

Don't know about your setup, but I have the option to "always" allow pop-ups
from this web site - which I've selected for my own pages I'm writing and I
no longer get the blocks.

Small Note: If you want to learn how to fix/do something, I'll point you to
it, but if you want me to do your work for you, it will cost you $50 USD per
hour - your choice.
