When I open I.E. None of the pictures, (gifs), will
show. In addition, other functions don't work. For
example, even in this very newsgroup, There are no
plus signs present to open the replies.

You may have jumped too soon to load XP SP2. It's bound to have a lot of
bugs that haven't been worked out yet. My observations about IE 6 is that it
has never been ready for prime time. Putting that combo together can create
a mess. Until a fix comes along, you may want to go to www.Mozilla.org and
get their free Firefox browser and Thunderbird email/newsreader.

Thanks, Smoker. I already have Firefox. I'll use it. One thing though:
with firefox, when I get to the community newsgroup site, the page
either doesn't load or takes a very, very long time to load. Any
ideas?
