I don't want to show deleted messages

When i delete a messages i want them to automatically appear in the wastebin
and to dissappear in the list of mails. (i don't want them to be struck
through, i don't want them to be shown)

(I could manage to fix this in Outlook express but not in Outlook, very odd
i must say!)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

That's how IMAP differs from POP3. The message is *marked* for deletion
locally but is NOT deleted from the IMAP server until you execute a
Purge. So you will need to use Purge to actually remove the
delete-marked messages from your IMAP server. You could add the Purge
button to the toolbar by customizing it.

Outlook Express will perform an automatic purge when you change focus
away from the folder. Outlook does not.
