I uninstall a program, and then I found I lost some
important files in that program.

Is it possible to get thoseimportant files?
these files are in somewhere in my laptop or they are
deleted clearly?

Thanks a lot!

Do a Start|Search for one of those files by name- it's quite possible that
the uninstall left files and folders behind. Also, you could take a look in
C:\Program Files (if this is where the app was installed to) and have a look
if some folders were left behind containing what you are looking for.
That's how I stumbled across a bunch of downloaded music files almost a year
after having uninstalled the original Napster- the Napster Downloads file
had been left behind.

Good luck,
Ian.

Uninstallers normally only remove files added by that same installer,
additional files in the folders are usually left in place, though some
installers will ask you if you want to delete those too, depends on the
applications...

Depending on which program it is and how it handles
deleting data created by you using the program you will
not be able to retireve those files

Sorry

for you but cost lots of $$$ tell FBI it was porn and they
will get them for you

Did you Uninstall or Delete the program? There is a lot
of difference. Uninstall deletes the application
including files in many locations such as Shared files
and the Registry. Deleting the application should have
put the files in the Recycle Bin and is not recommended.
If you lost some important files, recommend you reinstall
the program to bring the files back or use a 3rd party
program to undelete them from the harddrive. Maybe the
program from the below website will be of some help to
you only if you "deleted" them:

Restorer v1.1

525,00.asp

Jake, if you uninstall a program the file associations are probably
disconnected. Just reinstall the program if you can and
see what happens. You could also do a search for the extensions of the
files. ie: .exe .txt etc
