Dear Friend.

When I attempt to start Windows XP after I installed Windows 2000, I have
received the following error message:

"Starting Windows...
Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or
corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM.

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows 2000 Setup using the
original Setup floppy disk or CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

Also I tried this microsoft knowledge base
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283433

But, still I can't start Windows XP.. !

Please advice to resolve this issue..!

Thanks S RAmesh

When installing Win2000, you replaced the hidden files
c:\ntldr and c:\ntdetect.com with versions that are
unsuitable for WinXP. You must now restore the WinXP
versions of these files. You can find them in the i386
folder of your WinXP CD.

Strange . . . I wrote
c:\ntldr, and you did
C:\windows\system32\config\systemd

Now that's not the same location!

You replaced WinXP's newer system files on C: with Win2K's older
versions.
