I have loaded win XP onto my system, using NTFS I have cleared all partitions
and the installation seemed to have worked, untill I rebooted my system it
gets so far and then display, searching for boot record from CDROM..Not Found
/ Serching for boot record from FLOPPY..not found etc. However if I have my
CD in the ROM it logs on OK and I get Win as normal. I was told by a friend
by using R-Repair and putting in FIXMBR that this sould solve the problem, as
is the norm with me it did not, it seems to me that I need to make a boot
record from scratch can anyone help??

If you just installed xp,and have problems then reinstall xp again. This time,
boot to xp cd,recovery, press enter key for password, then type:DiskPart In
DiskPart delete all partitions,create one,then press ESC key,then type:EXIT
Reboot to xp cd,select,install xp.

You might also want to check your BIOS settings and make sure that your
hard drive is one of the devices selected to boot from.

copy ntldr and ntdetect.com to the root directory possibly "C:\"
of your boot up HDD.

they are on your windows cd.

see if it boots now.
