I just updated the Junk Email Filter KB916521 from Microsoft for my Outlook
2003 SP2 and now I can't send or receive emails. Did it change some
settings? If so, how can I un-install it?

What happens when you try to send or receive?

When I originally open Microsoft Outlook, it takes several minutes (as I have
it set to send/recieve upon startup) then I can see the old messages, but a
message appears that says something to the affect of "a connection to the
server could not be established. http:... is now in offline mode." When I
hit the send/recieve button after that, I just get an endless hourglass that
will not ever go away. I have to terminate the program with task manager.

I don't know why you are unable to send or receive messages. But if you
want to try to uninstall the update, open Control Panel, then Add/Remove
Programs and check 'Show updates' on top of the panel (assuming that you
are on Windows XP). Scroll down to the Microsoft Outlook entry and
locate KB816521 below. Select it and click Remove.

Make sure that Outlook is closed when doing this.

Are you using a Hotmail account?
