i have adelphia high speed internet access
i bought a linksys cable/DSL reuter with a four point switch. in the
instructions and in the box it says that after the internet conection is
shared it also acts as a switch to connect both my computer together as in a
network, well this is what im trying to do
i have ran the network wizard many times and i just cant seem to connect
them together.

they can both access the internet without a problem. but i just cant get a
network going. when i go to my network places and view workgroup computer it
says that i cant access it that i need to contact the administrator and the
list is unavailable that i have no permission to access it.

i tried everything, my computer browser is auto start and its working
i already went to the Local area Connection and enabled the net bios over
TCP/IP

so how can i get a network running. thanks alot im new at this network stuff

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

For more direct help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
