I can't see java applets

I've recently upgraded to xp home edition. I have my own website for my work
and there is a java applet on it. It's a roll-over effect that was created
with Frontpage. I have two computers in my office and they are networked and
share one connection to the Internet from the xp computer. The other
computer is running '98. I check my website on the Internet from the '98
computer and I can see my applet but when I check it from the xp computer I
can't. I have a firewall on the xp computer but since I can see the applet
from the 2nd one I know it's not a firewall issue. I have "show pictures"
checked off in the xp options section. All pictures show up when I surf.
Everything is the same except for this java applet issue. There must be
something in xp that is causing this to happen. Perhaps something needs to
be tickmarked or not. Maybe I need some kind of java update. Can you help?
Thanks

XP was not shipped with a Java virtual machine. It came on with Service
Pack 1, which MS had to remove since they lost the lawsuit to Sun. You now
need to install Sun Java.

Do you have Java installed?
