I cant open a new file in word

word wont let me open any new documents and all documents are locked , I'm
author of them all and haven't put on any kind of password..HELP I can now
only view work I have already done and can't create anything new!!

Either you have not activated your copy of Word/Office or you are using a
trial version that has expired. What happens if you choose Help | Activate
Product?
