I Can't Log In

My notebook computer (Compaq nx9008) has just come across
the Windows XP Home logon screen where it asks you to
click your user name to log in. It has always just
logged on instead of going to this screen, and now it
shows no icon to click on in order to log onto Windows
XP. The only thing it will let me do is "Turn off
Computer." Is there someway around this screen?
Thanks

If you press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice on that screen you should
get a logon prompt where you can type your username and
password. Can you log on here? If not can you log on as
Administrator?

Thanks,
I was able to get the logon prompt up, and the screen
comes up with my name in the "user name" box, but I'm
trying to put in my usual password and its not accepting
it. Is there a way to get into windows so I can add a
new user name?
