I can't audio to work on Messenger 6.2. I able to webcam but not use my mic.

Any suggestions or ideas.

I am having the same problems, I have tried this with two
different webcams and a standalone microfone. I seriously
doubt that they are all defective. Besides, as I've read
a lot of people running XP are having the same kind of
problem. I have tried to turn of QoS, but my internet
connection doesn't allow it, and turning of the firewall
is out of the question. I've just about given up and am
waiting for a fix from Microsoft. Can anyone suggest any
other workarounds?

Yep. Skype has very good audio, is free for awhile, and
works at the same time as your webcam. RealTunnel works
also win98 and has good audio, also free with registration,
and it integrates smoothly with MSN Messenger 6.2

One needs to have UPnP enabled in the router, an ISP
which is not Nat'ed and your firewall configured properly.
That is a bit techy for most people.

Thank you. I'll try those.

No, I have a separate mic using my USB port. I have
Norton software running. should I disable that?

You need to get a mic that will and does plug into the SOUND CARD ON THE
BACK OF THE COMPUTER. Then it should work. "Norton Software" which one?
If it is the Virus one then it
should not be a problem, if it is the firewall one, then it needs to be
configured or disabled.
