I can't close Word 2005

Using a new computer with pre-installed Office 2005. The first time I used
Word, I tried closing the program and received the error "the function you
are trying to perform requires macro language" when I click "OK" and try to
close again I receive the error "changes have been made that affect the
global template, do you want to save these changes" if I click "yes" nothing
happens....if I click "no" the program will close. What is going on?
