I cannot select text in outlook or word. Please help?

When writing a new email message or creating a new word document i have to
manualling (using the keyboard, not the mouse) position the cursor where i
want to type. The left button on the mouse works in every other way except to
allow me to click on the screen and start typing in my chosen position. Can
anyone help?

Is this a Word specific problem? ie Are you also creating e-mails in Word?
Is this Word 2007?
If the answer is yes to both then the problem is probably related to the
mouse software. Uninstall Intellipoint (or at least update it) and revert to
the standard mouse driver.
