I cannot open tasks from other people. How do I fix?

I recently had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall all software. When
Outlook was reinstalled and my PST restored the tasks stopped working. I can
still manage my own and even send tasks out to others, but when acceptance
notifications, updates, or completions come back I can't open the task and
the changes never take place. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software
three times. I even tried not importing my old tasks (for fear something in
there was corrupt) but they still don't work. Please help.

You can work around it by uninstalling the security fixes (you may leave the
junk email filter updates) for Outlook 2003. We've been fighting with it
since January 2006.

You will also wish to use Microsoft Update to block reinstallation of the
patch. (Go to Update, use Custom scan, uncheck the box for the Outlook
security patches, check the 'don't show me this again until you fix it, what
were you thinking anyway?' box. Or something like that.

The patch to ensure that malicious programs don't run? Won't allow tasks to
run. Yeah.

Use the list search function for 'can't open tasks' to find the trail of
grief.
