i cannot open exe file under windows

Hello friends,

i m unable to open exe files under windows xp. When
i try to open an exe file, a pop up is coming to choose appropriate
program like when we try to open an audio file of unknown format. Can
anyone help me to fix the problem
 
You do not open exe files! If you double click them they run the
programme / application.

Fix File Associations.

Click the "EXE File Association Fix" (Restore default association for
EXE files)
