I am trying to set up 2 different computers both with Windows XP
Professional (SP 1).There is nothing (sound card etc.) installed in either
computer. I am experiencing similar problems with both computers.

Computer no. 1
mobo = KT4 Ultra / VIA chipset
Processor = AMD Athelon 333
Display Adaptor = Matrox G550
Drivers = Latest Windows certified from Matrox Web site
OS = Windows XP Pro / SP1
Problem = lots of lockups and severe screen artifacts especially when using
Matrox drivers. When booting to Safe Mode I see the boot up stop for a time
on mup.sys

Computer no. 2
mobo = Abit SA6R / Intel 815 EP (ICH2) chipset
Processor - Pentium III 933
Display Adaptor = Matrox G550
Drivers = Latest Windows certified from Matrox Web site
OS = Windows XP Pro / SP1
Problem = lots of lockups and severe screen artifacts especially when using
Matrox drivers.
When booting to Safe Mode I see the boot up stop for a time on agp.sys

I would really appreciate any advice on how to fix this.

Thanks,
Al Brassell

Try installing an earlier O/s like Win2K and see if you get these problems
if not upgrade to XP.
