I cannot delete folders on my desktop

I cannot delete certain folders on my desktop after I
create them. the computer will not allow me to access the
data i have stored in them as well. I now have 6 folders
on my desktop that I cannot open or delete. When I try to
open or delete those folders (from now on they will be
called FFH, folders from Hell) it gives me a message that
says path is not accessible. (line break) Access Denied.
I am the only account on my computer, hence I have the
admin account. Now i'm not a computer dimwit, but these
FFH are killing me, I have lost some schoolwork because of
it. Reformatting is not an option because of the amount of
work i have on here. I would just like to know if anybody
out there can hear me or help me!
