Hi all,
I've done some previous post on being able to rename the
HP_administrator to another name. The advice that I got was good but
wasn't what I really wanted, it renames the administrator name alright,
but I guess I was a little vague on what I really wanted. I guess I
expected that you should be able to read my mind. *NOT* What I really
want to do is change the the HP_Administrator name in 'Window Explorer'.
Now that being said, I read a thread that attacked this situation,
here is the snippet from that post:
Go into Safe Mode, log in as Administrator. Right-click on the folder
and make sure you didn't make it a system folder. If you did, uncheck
that. You might also need to take ownership of the folder.
OK, I did this and I was able to change the name of the folder,
BUT....... when I rebooted I lost all my setting. As though it booted
to the other administrator. By this I mean, when I boot into safe mode,
two administrators show up, 'HP_Administrator' the one I want to change
the name of the folder, and 'Administrator'. I pick on 'Administrator',
thinking that I need to be logged on to this one to change the other,
change the folder name from HP_Administrator to my name and the reboot,
and walla no more setting, no desktop, no icons, no links to file the
way I have then set up.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
TIA
