I can not send emails from Windows Live

I have a new computer (hp with Windows vista) I am trying to generate an
email from a website. It says that it does not support it, I have downloaded
Windows Live, but it does not allow me to set up my email. Does anyone know
how to do this?
 
It would have been helpful if you had disclosed what your desired
email service is (probably whatever you used prior to Vista).

We can help get set up on Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail, but
you may prefer to continue with your prior email service, such as
Hotmail. Let us know which way you want to go.

Note that "Windows Live" does not designate a specific program,
it is a whole suite of programs:
